Mitsubishi photo printers use dye-sublimation technology for color prints. To make these color prints you need paper and ribbon with ink. On the tape there are foils in the colors Cyan, Magenta and Yellow and in most cases also an Overcoating. The printer’s thermal head burns the ink into the paper. The coating also found on the ink ribbon protects the print from fading from UV rays, light and air and makes the print waterproof. The size of the ink sheet maximizes the print format. Paper with sheets of 13×18 cm / 5×7” The cutter on the prints cuts the photos to the proper size.
